Please join us as we honor the recent Neptune Pool restoration and visit some of the ongoing conservation efforts throughout this unique historic resource.

The two-day program will commence on Friday March 27th with a park led tour featuring Casa del Sol (the most elaborate of the guest cottages), the dressing-rooms behind the Roman Pool, and the more “modern” Art Deco aesthetic of the North Wing of Casa Grande (hearstcastle.org) followed by lunch overlooking San Simeon Bay at Hearst Ranch Winery / Sebastian's General Store (right across the highway from Hearst Castle).

Returning to the hilltop, Friday's session will conclude with a private tour identifying several conservation projects. The tour will be led by former Hearst Castle Director, Hoyt Fields, as well as preservation professionals Gray Hulbert and Chris Gray (GBG), who have hands on experience working across the site. Stops on the tour will include statues, facades, ceilings and the Roman Pool.

Saturday March 28th will focus on the recently completed restoration of the Neptune Pool. Attendees will tour the pool with Shelly Dildey (California State Parks), Tom Dufferena (Page & Turnbull), Alan Kren (Rutherford and Chekene) and maintenance staff offering opportunities to visit the rarely seen underside of the pool, learn about the incredible engineering behind the water management systems and get a real understanding of the monumental task of repairing and restoring the pool.

Attendees will also join a private tour of Casa Grande, visiting the underground conservation room and vaults, as well as the celestial suites and William Randolph Hearst's private office and library!

A BBQ lunch at the visitor center will be followed by a classroom-style presentation on the Neptune Pool project, located in the theater lobby. Attendees will learn more about the project, the challenges and the resolutions.

Saturday will conclude with the WCAPT Annual General Meeting and a wine and cheese reception catered by Hearst Ranch Winery on the visitor center back patio (weather permitting) with views of Hearst Castle.
